Default Copyright on the internet

Whats the story....

If someone puts an image on their website... but that image has no copyright symbol on it... is it free for anyone to use?

i dont think that is true to be honest.

If you have a website and has say 1000 pics on it, and you state all pictures are copyrighted and below to joe bloggs ltd , im sure you are not allowed to take them and are liable for legal action.

You dont need to have copyright on every picture.

I dont see why not, its not as if i could stop you anyway!
If someone really wanted to go through the while process with solicitors and such like then good luck to them!

At the end of the day, if you post a pic on the net its going to be taken or used by someone at some point whether you like it or not.

This came up in detail before, and IIRC the outcome was that it was intellectual property, and copyright automatically applies, you don't even need to state copyright.

Total waste of time!
Its still all too easy to take images even with that code in place.
Either do as you say and use the path or simply take a screen grab if you want it that badly!

yeh there is a few things you can do to get them even with that coded in.

I had a program once where you caould download all pictures from a website onto your hard drive in about 25 mins depending how many pics there were.
