Default got a problem with me cossie

Hey all,
wonder if you could cast some light on a problem that started today.

car comes on boost as the revs rise, there is a bit of a misfire
and the rev counter is going mental,
rev counter dancing from what ever the revs might be to Off the scale
about 7k...

any ideas what it might be, or best place to start lookin?

cheers!

Could try all the earths on the car in the engine bay, good clean up.
