Not much help for you guys but I found the 3.9 to short. Sold it and put a 3.7 in. Got a spare MK fitting kit here.

How short matt? I've kept my 3.9 I was going to use in the 4x4 focus project for the 3dr I'm building

I’ve been advised to put a 3.9 in mine. My gearbox has a taller 1st and my clutch is very hard work. Told a 3.9 would be far better

Its not that short but..
I found with stock T5 in the 3dr when pushing on it felt like it wanted a 6th gear.
Most people seem to recommend the 3.9 as the one to get and especially so if your running a mahoosive turbo setup.
Personally I prefer the 3.7 a touch shorter than stock but doesn't feel like a compromise for higher speed cruising.
Just my opinion dude.

stick with the 3.9 mate. Great for lighting it up off junctions and general hooliganism...might suit you

With a taller first the 3.9 is definitely the way to go and ideal if your running a 6 speed box..

I had to go with a 3.9 as the torque levels dropped when i changed spec and gained more hp the car felt difficult low down, i've since changed to dog gears with different ratio and the car drives really well now

1 = 2.43
2 = 1.56
3 = 1.24
4 = 1.1
5 = 0.9

I’ve a twin plate 7.25 in mine not had much practice with it yet as I’m waiting for my breather pots. But it’s hard work. But told a 3.9 would change that especially in reverse
