Default Project revivals/updates, what’s everyone up to?

So I been thinking about this for a few weeks now and as much as I try to follow the cosworths on Facebook etc I think that there slowing down dramatically and we all know that there’s hundreds of unfinished projects lying about that people are still working on and I miss all the old project threads of what everyones upto.

Although the forums are slow I think passionford doesn’t do to bad and there’s a lot of old faces on here that are still tinkering with fords in the background including myself so come on post your projects and current toys so we can all have a look and get the forum moving a bit more.

👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

rs1600i nothing done in probably 10 years
95 smiley transit hallmark edition just bought about a year ago and nothing done
escos grp a shell bought a few month ago and nothing done
mk 4 track car blown up

I agree that with a bit of effort the forum could revive and migrate off Facebook.

I got my old boat on the road this year but in reality I don’t think it will be finished till next year now. I may be taking on another project with an unexpected possible house move.

I’m working on my cars as well, including updating the project topic. It would be great if people left Facebook and came back here! Keeping all the information here also helps a lot in getting information in the future, as there’s lots of useful info here, while on Facebook everything is lost within a day.

Hi Marc, you are always happy to help people out with technical problems as you have a very comprehensive knowledge of the Sierra Sapphire range of cars. Keep up the good work.

Marc has helped me a lot recently.

It is true that loads of people see stuff on facebook and then the knowledge is lost...it is great if you want an argument with someone but not a lot of use in restoring old cars.

Restored a mk2 escort rs2000 to standard during 2019 and 2021, this had been offf the road since 1990.. Been to lots off shows and car meets in it the last 12 months.

Saph just back on the road with new alloy engine, I broke it at national day 2019, will be back on track at national day this year.

what cc did you go for on the alloy block? I saw a 2.7 n/a one in an escort and he was at 370 bhp close to 9000 rpm, he was about to turbo it.

Ooops...I doubled the value by adding an "L"...I thought it might have been the one that Lady Di had (she had 2 on the same plate to confuse IIRC)...oh, and hers was an S2 ?

Remember Tabetha from the old PF days... well his Mercury grey saff which was a stunner back in the day is just left to rot in his driveway, it looks a right state and problem not saveable now, he`s just lost interest in cossies overnight which is weird for someone with so much knowledge on them.

Ive never found Facebook very good for people posting there projects as it seems there wasn’t to many projects on there in the first place and they disappear within a week where as the forums literally had all sorts going on all the time.

Too many projects. Just imported 3 pallets of bits for them, another 4 to go and another car.

Audi coupe gt - waiting on fuel filter then hub swap to 4x108, wheels then maybe a turbo conversion
Audi coupe quattro - still gathering parts
Audi 80 avant fwd - import then convert to quattro rs2 spec
Ford Merkur - honda k24 conversion
Porsche 944 - Widebody then 07k conversion when the sumps come available again
Audi sport quattro - need to order the bodykit then cut the car in half
Audi a8l - Just sold.

Maybe more, need to pick up a mk3 or 4 escort 2 door soon.

Sport Quattro sounds interesting. I bet the body shell cut takes a lot of measuring and bracing etc.

It’s only mapped up too 4000rpm at the moment. Once the new breather pots are on it can be mapped properly. Marks not sure what it will do. Should make 650 but anything over is an un know. He hasn’t use this turbo on a yb

I’m using the efr8474. One down from the big 9180. I decided against the 9180 as with a standard crank and old block I’d be sailing to close to the limits lol. Plus mines only ever going to be a weekend toy
