Default mondeo st tdci. Anyone owned one?

So someone i worked with a few year back told me Guy at one of old jobs was sellinh his 54 plate mondeo tdci st in black for cheap. Naturally being the horder i am, snapped it up. ( Being picked up in a few weeks due to no mot ) its been sat for 18 months so naturally know it will some love, always had a soft spot for these, but due to my connect just costing more than my wife and kids do, i need something i can use thats comfy and got some poke.

Is there any common faults with these? Anyone had a play with the tuning on these? I have a stage 2 airtec fmic of a mk2 focus rs lying around, a saph cossie turbo ect.

Not looking for silly power but as we all do, i got the itch to tinker and its not even here yet

I think injectors are common for going down on them. Front and Rear sub frame bushes can wear.

Injectors and clutch/dmf are the main ones.

I've heard about these with injector problems. I'm hoping there is a upgrade that i can buy, as i will tune this, but wanted something that i can take to ford fair ect with having something comfortable to travel in.

EGR valves are rubbish
Sagging rear bumper

My injectors and wheel bearings were all perfectly fine. They seem to be common issues. Cant remember the mileage when we got rid of it. Was around 180k / 190k. All depends on how it was looked after.

In the tens of thousands of miles I did in my old one, the only thing I had to replace was a rear wheel bearing (bought the whole hub for about £40 and just replaced that) and a water pump.

If you use decent fuel the injectors stay working for longer without failing apparently. I put the odd tank of V Power Diesel through mine and it never missed a beat. Mybe a BG244 can through the tank once a year just in case.
