I’m so envious, you get to play with farm machinery and ground work machinery, and from your motor collection it seems to serve you well too, so hats off to you 👍

It’s was ok when you had to provoke the popping but there’s this Astra vxr that drives round my way and it’s relentless, every overrun is just constant popping and banging 🤦🏻‍♂️ When you get a very powerful car and it does it kinda naturally it’s impressive, but mapping it in so it’s constant just spoils it.

a mate of mine mapped a bmw 1 series, the bloke asked for loads of pops and bangs, they went to town and the bloke loved it 🤦🏻‍♂️ my mate thought it was comical, but they pays their money 🤷🏿

the fuel bill must be horrific too 🤣🤣

Well, this says it all. People are complaining that the Ford scene is shite, but slagging people off because others are into something other than what they like

I bet when most of us were 17-21, if someone had offered us a turbocharged hot hatch for a couple of hundred quid a month with pops and bangs, we would have torn them arms off. Much of this strikes me as miserable old bugger disease as much as anything else

I couldn't afford a couple of hundred quid when I was that age. When I was 21 I was on 750 a month.

But yeh cars change and technology change. I bet the mk2 escort boys hated the mk3 escort when that came out.

Popping and banging is great on full on rally cars but for me having the same on a road car does nothing for me. a few years ago at Simply Ford there was a group of Focus RS boys who were trying to out do each other on the way in with their popping and banging and it was really annoying!

£30 a day laying block paving at 15 for me, I was working away from home in borehamwood and sleeping in a camp bed in the site cabins 🤣🤣 I remember having to fill the smiley transit with red and it used to smoke for about 10 miles on the way home before it cleared up, and we used to sleep on the camp beds in the back of the van 🤣🤣

i then plowed my earnings into my Matisse blue 1.3 OHV mk5 escort I got from the scrappers for £125 🤣

Gotta laugh at the negative comments aimed at the newer Fords, the same was said about cossies and turbos back in the day no doubt, in fact a well known club and forum had a couple of slogans one was “no Cosworths or RS turbos allowed” and “plastic is not fantastic”

personally I bought a newer fast ford five years ago as it for me it was the thing to do, I pumped thousands in my Sapphire Cosworth and it was time to move on after 13 years of ownership, do I think any less of Cosworths or any other classic Fords NO! I Just wanted a newer car with all the mod cons so I bought one.

I still do shows and meets etc but not as much as I used to. I’ve got two children who are growing up fast, priorities change and I think a lot of people are in the same boat, every hard working person across this land struggles to make ends meet and keep their heads above water I’d imagine, suddenly spending money on cars and smoking around in them is just not important anymore, a lot of these shows are repetitive, you’ve done one you’ve done them all sort of thing, and from what I see everything goes up in price but wages stay the same, a couple of you above have talked wages lol when I was 19 I was taking home £105.46p per week and a 4x4 saph cos was 25 grand, way out of reach for me lol I bought a 2.8i Capri with a 2 grand loan

anyway thus ends my tuppence worth
