Default Racetech electronic Speedo on FRS MK1 gearbox
Hi

Looking to use this Speedo in my XR2 using a FRS MK1 gearbox.

Anyone know if the original ford speedo sensor will work with this or do I need to buy a different one?

Yes it should,

The ford sensor is a hall afect sensor. The other type of sensor used on speedos is a Vr sensor.

The racetech instructions show it will accept either signal. I have run Etb gauges from the ford hall sensor in kitcars and it gives a very nice smooth and stable signal.

Didn't realize you could buy such a thing.

I've got racetech boost and oil pressure etc gauges already so the speedo and rev counter shouldn't look too out of place along side the others.

We have built a controller to operate the standard Speedo from the electric sensor. Just need to do ish installing it but can't be arsed tbh
