favourite car youve ever owned....?
my cosworth converted e30 estate was a great car but I always had the fear of unusual noises and expensive breakdowns whenever I took it for a blast. my current c320 3.0 cdi estate is a car ive regained my fun of driving with. ill go out for no reason other than for the sake of a drive and ive not done that for a long time ! its fast and smooth and I rip the arse out of it regularly and it never misses a beat.
whats been your favourite car over the years?

My old white mk3 xr3i back in the late 90s. Paid Ł150 for it and was one of the cleanest 3is I've ever seen then and now. Loved that car, I still remember the reg, hyc 19y

ive never been in an e30 m3 but I do know the e30 325 was a well balance car to drive. the 50/50 weight balance and the lsd made even the most lead footed driver look like a hero !

My Uren V6 Savage 1600e. I had my MK2 lotus Cortina at the same time but the Savage had a lot more power!
In its day it was a fast car which suprised a lot of other performance cars that were around then.

1.8 16v XR2i. No creature comforts except a heater. Heavy as fuck steering, lowered, big sound system. (6x9's and a sub )
Billions of cars out there that are better. But for some reason that's the car that comes to mind. Would kill for another, but prices are ridiculous for what they are now.

This was cool to own. When I finished with it it had full saff cossie interior and obviously the escos wheels and lowered.
The ST170 I had. It had both climate and custom packs. I bought it for 600 quid and sold it for 900.
The cossie. I've had it 13 years next year.
I'm happy with my mondeo too now. It's a nippy car and it's sooo comfortable.

My old mk3 fiesta turbo , was a good all round car , but the 300 bhp zetec turbo engine , stripped out with a t34 it just went when it got grip.
Now my new st180 Fiesta , comfort , sound , turbo great handling with easy bolt on parts to get good bhp.
hoping to go from 180 to 300+ wbhp but waiting to for Collins performance to bring there cp5 kit out then it's going in.
Never driven my 500 + bhp zetec turbo which is going in the fiesta , but I know it will be raw and that's what I looking forward too , the smell of petrol , shaking the shit out of you and noisy as fuck and then the power which makes you smile every time and forget about all the bad bits lol
cheers paul

I see the majority favour old cars. do you think modern cars are boring or lacking excitement or is it rose tinted specs of nostalgia?

For me the most "modern" performance car I have owned is my 1990 Saff 2wd which is a beast, all my other cars were 70s and 80s fast Fords. The new Fast Fords are light years ahead in terms of technology but for me lack character.

I had mine when I was really young lol was a wicked car. At the same time a good friend had a 2.3 e30 m3 was nothing in it between the 2. But my merc was the 2.5. The merc had a far far better interior being all leather

205 1.6 gti....loved that car. My metro (first car) and I love my Cossied 205 but certainly not the best car...just love it.
had an e30 m3 2.3....not so impressed
3.2 Carrera was so much fun and should not have sold it.

I haven't got any pics of it but I think my first XR3i mk3 when I was about 21. It was the first 'real' sports car of the time I'd had and although it came with troubles it was when I was still excited by cars. I've had so many cars now it doesn't get me going so much but then when I was young I was so proud of myself to have one. Although my parents were not happy and thought I'd just end up killing myself, but I'm still here!

I had an M325i before it and an E36 M3, I think I had built the E30 M3 up in my mind to be something better than it was (never meet your heroes and all that) I felt that it was underpowered until the last 1500 revs and I just did not gel with the left hand drive and the dogleg gearbox...it probably did not help that I was using other RHD cars at same time so it never felt natural to drive or place on the road.....It was very easy to drive sideways though and very forgiving on track.
My one was the 2.3 Johnny Cecotto often referred to as Evo 2.
Best looking car though

I always wanted the Turbo and the green was easily the best colour. My one had the Turbo body kit fitted and 13 inch Revolution RFX alloys.
