well said that man, give him a Cuban and fire it up the problem with some folk is they take car clubs far too seriously, ffs it’s supposed to be for fun and like you said we should all share a common interest,

personally I couldn’t give a toss who drives what, what club they are a member of, which stand they are on, if they have a million cars on their stand etc etc etc,

shows and meets should be about the social aspect of it, getting together, firing up the bbq and cracking the beers open (whilst camping)

all the politics and people that hark on about things, yeah yeah yeah boring

Agreed!

Why can we all not get over the fact the Ford scene has changed? And it's for the better in some ways.

Yes, there are a lot of the same cars, but some Fiesta ST and Focus ST/RS are mega power and spec; why's that now a problem?

Back in the day a 300bhp RS Turbo was mental and so was a 500+bhp Cosworth. Rarely did they do more than park up at Ford Fair.

Yet now you get 330+bhp Fiesta STs and 700+bhp Focus RS' parking up/not on track and the Ford world is crap?

People just don't like change. When RS Turbos and Cosworths started to get popular, I'm sure all the MK1/2 Escort and Cortina boys got upset. You can imagine it, "Look at those tossers in their modern wank-mobiles, they're not proper RS models cos they don't have carbs and bubble arches." Now it's, "Look at those tossers in their modern wank-mobiles, they're not proper RS models cos they don't have loads of turbo lag and rusty arches."

We should be grateful that we have such a massive range of cars to choose from, such a huge number of clubs to help us enjoy our hobby and such a massive number of well-attended shows to let us show off our cars with (supposedly) like-minded enthusiasts. Yes some of the older stuff is getting expensive, but we've probably never had it so good in reality.

I refuse to pay Ł27 per person if I’m displaying my car
I don’t enjoy doing a 4 hour round trip and still have to add 3-4 hours onto that for getting in and out...

Most of the guys and girls with the older stuff still like to use their cars, they just just refuse to have their pants pulled down by Kelsey Media & Silverstone

If I was to go
me & wife plus 3 year old daughter Ł54 for 2 tickets
Ł50 - Ł60 fuel
Fetch our own packing up so we’re not bummed by Silverstone’s fast food prices
Ł10 ish
Maybe allow Ł10 - Ł20 spend for drinks/ ice creams so I haven’t gotta walk miles back to the car for a bottle of warm water.
Up @ 4am out on the road for 5am
near Silverstone for 7-7:30am
on stand for 11am thanks to queuing , quickly cleaned midday
rush round the show for 3-4 hours then thinking about going home lol

Thats Ł144 for a hectic day out. Probably out of the house for 14hrs
Fordfair is spread over a fair sized area!!!

If they was to listen to people’s opinions rather than take every opinion as a moan you may start getting some of the guys that have been for 10-15 years in a row back

Fordfair for me and family is too big to do in a day
I like the pre 2000 stuff
Spending hours walking through modern stuff to find older stuff wastes what time I spend there less
Im not the only one

For me to come back
It needs to be split up rather than mix and match everywhere
Reduce prices or don’t charge me for passengers ( if showing )

To be honest if you paid for one ticket and printed it out 10 times you'd have got 10 people in with no questions asked, due to the intense scrutiny (not) the tickets were subjected to on the gate 😁

Im with you on this, if you are showing your car (to make the show what it is) then just one ticket should get a car load in!

I went this year and paid the Ł27 for 2 of us! Its mental! Over priced everything inside but you expect that i guess so give in on the gate fee.

Dont think ill go next year as the sea of orange ST's is very old now and the show is filling with new focus and fiestas that once you have seen one its all the same and dont get me wrong it good that they show up and make the numbers but dont park next to each other! Make it better for the older guys to come back into the shows, maybe ill just classic Ford over at the pod from now on.

The passion ford stand i was on about 4-5 years ago was great as it had everything on.

Can i add Ł4 for a 99...

Hope i sleep better tonight now i got this on my chest

Been going for over 2 decades now lol and Ł27 isn't that bad and the ques are getting better and this year was great people were getting in with very little fuss and it was busy all day with visitors so a guess the odd few moaning on tinternet are not making a difference lol

He went into heavy boycott mode because the price went up and a few of his bitches bandwagoned with him I think there would be enough interest in one if it was done

has anyone else started a payment plan to afford the 27 quid entry for next year?
I'm putting about 8 pence a day into my savings in the hope i can afford.

at the last ford fair we attended many people were unhappy with the way the show was changing plus all the messing about with the organisers, there was a meet on stand and the vast majority agreed to not attend so I simply went along with the feeling and did not book the following year, so I asked at that time for someone to takeover pf events but nobody wanted to so that basically killed pf stands at shows, result was even with 1 years notice nobody else stepped up sadly, times have moved on with the organisers and attendees so I have no interest in getting re involved in any event kelsey run, and I hope someone does take over the events again as would love to see pf getting good press but with the decline of forums I doubt it will ever happen.

i gave my little blue xr2 enough welly on two sessions on track lol straight past the newer stuff.
I agree a lot of new stuff, although i like going to watch track and take part and only focus on the older cars and track action, rarely do i do the full walk round as im not into pop and bang sticker covered focus and fiestas.

i enjoyed the day, its only as good as you make it
i just walked past anything i wasnt interested in

haven`t been to ford fair for a couple of years (as i am from switzerland and can not make the trip every year).

when i started going 2009ish it was all orange ST`s and everybody was complaining, 1-2 years later it was all fiesta ST`s and everyboy was moaning.,but that is how the car world is moving and changing. people switch to newer cars...

still i enjoyed every single trip to the max! you guys are just happy to have such a big ford scene. if you want to attend a really sad show come over to switzerland where we have a car show like every two years with a max 100 cars

The last tme i went to Ford Fair was about two years ago, i went up in my Sapphy and parked in the general car parking.

Came back to find some a*sehole had relieved me of all my jacking covers off the car.
I thought it was very nice of some fellow "car enthusiasts" to treat someone else car like that.

Kind of put me off going to it again in it.

Any shows I go to in my Saff I will always either go on a group stand or have an individual display ticket as at least you are next to other people and cars. I usually talk to the people either side of me and we agree to keep an eye on each others cars when we go for a walk around.I will never park in the general car parking area as that is where ,as you found there are always some low lifes looking to steal or vandalise something off your car!!
