Wrong!

I thought I would update this thread as the title really needs to be changed! The cause of the problem has been found and is absolutely nothing to do with the hydraulic clutch conversion whatsoever,

I will leave it for the owner to reveal what the problem actually is if he wants to.... .

I wasn’t complaining about your kit as it works well and I use them . I was explaining what was happening when the problem was happening. My guess was one of two things.

I take your point but it harms the kits reputation without this being addressed. I would also be happy to put money where my mouth is and say that a completely seized clutch thrust bearing will not cause the issue anyway. Btw my guess was one thing haha

I imagine Jay can swap out the thread heading if the OP wont.

I wouldn't worry Martin as your stuff / business has such a well known reputation for pukka gear that the odd thing like this can do your product no harm at all.

So what was actually the issue here then?
The clutch? The engine?

I think the engine is back out if the car. Maybe it was a fault internal to the bottom end ? Hope he sorts it soon, great build.
I'm doing a Reyland center push kit install at the moment. Seems a nice, comprehensive pack of components.

I have had seized release bearings applying load to the engine and lowering the idle speed when the clutch is depressed. The idle speed dips sometimes severely until the transmission input inertia is overcome then idle returned to normal.

So what was the problem?

Just bought Tilton hydraulic components for a centre push setup.
Interesting to hear all the points to watch out for.

sounds like something I would do! I missed the knock sensor off my 1.8t engine at the weekend...couldn’t work out what the spare plug did...my mate took one look and asked why I hadn’t bolted a knock sensor back on....ooops

Default Centre push

Gents,

Just a little update, so after removing box etc and contacting Reyland, my clutch/centre push was found to be not at fault and pretty much bang on after taking certain measurements.

there was Crank Walk but thats a different matter and is in hand

Thanks to Reyland and the team for the assisstance and calculations over the phone.

At least you found the problem, that’s the main thing, was it a home built engine by yourself?

I don’t think Adam meant it like that, I think he was just doing Mark a favour to clarify as people are piss poor at reading forums and getting the wrong end of the stick. All friends around here.
