My mk3 focus has the door rubbers falling off and the peeling badges lol.

Was speaking to my work colleague the other day, his mk4 Mondeo 2.0 tdci has just clocked 255,000 miles. Apart from regular servicing, all its needed is the dpf vaporizer, a couple of wheel bearings and a coil spring replacing. Its never even had a single advisory on any mot lol

That's quite good going, i bet alot of the newer stuff would struggle to match that mileage with so few issues. mk1 Mondeo td, now that was a reliable car!

I know, faulty electronics will kill off most new stuff these days. To be fair he does really look after his car, anything that needs doing gets done straight away, he even regularly tows his caravan with it.

A fuel vaporizer Richie. Like what I think mine needs.

To be fair the the golf. It does seem quieter inside compared to the wife's mk2.5 focus. Hers sounds really loud inside.

Hope they get it sorted for you, could have sold you mine aswell

The Golf I've got now(59 plate) feels really cheap. The heater vents don't sit right in the dash. The nsfwindow is noisey when going up. The boot is closed but the boot lid still moves. It feels like it isn't closed properly. The radio keeps changing station. German quality.... fookin what lol.

Think it was a 56 plate model golf i had as a courtesy car a few years ago and that was horrible inside felt cheap shit but hey ho its good to get a change. Ive never owned a mrk2/2.5 focus i service my brothers for him and as much as they were smart outside i always hated the interior on them the whole lot is ugly and cheap inside no matter what model

We had a 53 reg focus before the one we have now. That was a cracking car. All I did to that was discs pads shoes drums rear wheel bearings and a few link rods.

We sold it with 160k on the clock.

As I've always said I like all cars but I just like my Fords. If I won the lotto I would have loads of different makes of cars but winning the lotto will never happen.

Yeh it feels a bit like that. The sales service was spot on but the after sales/the lad in charge of the garage/repairs is shit.

There is a bit of a difference between a second hand car garage and a Mercedes dealer though....

My ex Wife bought a new Golf GTD with all the gravy and trimmings. In 43 days of ownership it spent 26 in the garage before she rejected it. Thick end of 30k, completely unacceptable.

The Warranty Direct Reliability Index is based on actual breakdown data, as opposed to JD Power which is based upon owners opinion and impressions. Browse the Reliability Index and you'll see the supposedly reliably VW brand is, model for model, actually nothing special at all.

VW Passe shat;

https://www.reliabilityindex.com/reliability/search/179

The Mundano;

https://www.reliabilityindex.com/reliability/search/261

So next time someone tells you don't buy a Ford, but a nice reliable car from a firm founded by Hitler you can tell them they don't know what they're talking about.

I've never had problems with my Ford's apart from the cossie when I first bought it lol.

My good friend used to work for a back street garage and he used to repair loads of German cars. I will just stick to my Ford's. You can keep your posh badge cars ha ha.

I had an insignia for a while, it was actually quite a nice place to be.i would guess these days there's not much between them all. The only thing I would never consider is a French car

It does put a downer on buying a new car when you have issues like this, I'm sure it will get sorted though.
VW's are just over rated, over priced pieces of shit Imo.

I think one of the good things about VW is they don't seem to rust as much as Ford's.

As it happens, rust is a bit of a recurring PITA among Golf MK7 owners, and getting VW to honour the anti corrosion warranty is like asking Fred West not to be naughty.

It's just the same as Ford. They won't pay out for corrosion issues either.

my missus took her 6 year old kia back a few weeks ago under warranty as the front spring had snapped and while she was in they told her to book it back in as there was rust bubbling under the paint at a wing mirror. I would have thought a front spring snapping after 6 years was wear and tear but they replaced it free.
the car is a rattly piece of shit but they do seem to honour their 7 year warranty!

Aye, the Missus is on her third new Kia Sportage, and not even the slightest hint of quibble when something needs doing.

Ha ha class.

Well I've been messed about again for the 3rd time with the mk3 mondeo zetec s. The bloke seemed really keen on the car. He put in a offer on eBay,I accepted it. Then he has just text me saying due to a family emergency he can't come for the car tomorrow(sunday) I said I would keep hold of it till he can come for it. He said he doesn't know how long this family emergency is gonna go on.

So I took all the spare parts back out of the car after the 1st divvy let me down with the car so this buyer could see what condition the interior is in.

I fookin hate messers. If your gonna buy a car surely you would ask if the seller(me) would keep it for you.

So the car is delisted again on eBay.

Don't accept any offer on eBay unless they have given you a deposit. Unfortunately Glenn these days people's word means nothing.
