Too many posts.. I need a life!!
It does look like the reason the previous owner traded it in was because of the issue?
Still it's had all those bits changed now so will be fine as long as it's not only used for purely short town journeys

You can get a petrol manual titanium x business edition but not a sport. I have one with a 1.6 ecoboost in it. Remap takes it to 200hp ish.
I wouldn't go near a diesel. Vaporizer faults, temp sensor faults, turbo vanes sticking, dpf faults. The list is endless. If it wasn't for diesels I think I would be out of a job. Hopefully yours has now had the expensive bits changed and should be alright for a bit.

Yeh I defo think the original owner traded it in cause of this fault.
Brian I hope it will be ok lol. I really do like the car it's lovely to drive and it goes like stink.
I sold my mk3 mondeo today too so that's gone back down south and the new owner seemed to really like it. I've got loads of spares to try and sell on now cause he didn't want any of the spares.

Don't be put off by diesel Glenn, as long as it gets used properly you will not have a problem, I think I have said before me and the wife both have had diesels for a number of years now racking up probably over 100k between us and have not had a single issue.
You got any plans for the mondy then? How far down south did the old one go?

Good to hear you got the faults fixed, so you can now enjoy your car.
Had similar experiance last year, sister bought a used car from Peugeot main dealer, it needed some things fixed, they did it without quibble under warranty, but it annoying that the customer has to do dealers job for them and thoroughly check the car when you get it, if they can get away with it they will try. The car is great and we are enjoying it now , it was just a hassle getting it fixed, so hopefully you will be enjoying your now.

Richie. Anywhere past York to me is down south.
Steve. Thanks. Yeh hopefully it will be ok now. The mk4 is a flying machine compared to the 2.5 v6 petrol mk3 mondeo.
Now it's time to look for a new cd/DVD player/head unit. I want head rest monitors again for the little one so it keeps him occupied in the back of the car.

It's been spot on Richie. It drives sooooo nice and it has plenty of power too.
I'm gonna fit my new head unit this Friday coming and for some head rest monitors for my little boy. I've also got a reverse camera/boot handle switch to fit too.

Yeh I will do. I really like the car. It looks nice. It's comfy. It goes really well. I love the cooled seats on it lol.
I had my dad round a few weeks back painting the calipers black lol.

Yeh the cooled seats work spot on. They work really when when the air con is blowing air at my feet.
I've been reading about the multi media head unit like I bought don't work correctly with the ford conves+ system. As long as the steering wheel controls I don't think o will be that fussed.

Proper fooked lol.
I fitted my head unit over the weekend. Sadly it doesn't work with the convsers but the steering wheel controls work. I haven't had time to have a play about with it cause of my little boy. I never get time no more lol.

I've still got mine too. Just had to spend nearly 800 quid getting an dpf back section made for it. Only Ford do replacement exhaust. You can get straight through pipes for about 200 quid but I didn't want the car being too loud.

Had to get an Exhaust for mine made up last week. The wife borrowed the car and the rear back box fell off again. I have welded the Exhaust a few times now. Gonna have to take the car back cause the ns pipe looks cock eyed to me.

PassionFord Post Whore!!
Like the new twin pipe exhaust Glenn, looks so much better than the single pipe. A V6 engine breathes better with a twin system and probably sounds better and gives a slightly sharper response as well.

I would have got the 2.0 petrol turbo one (same as mk3 ficus st) but they only do them as an auto in the mondeo.

cheers, mechanically its well looked after, it doesn't get cleaned that often though. I've always fitted ford parts and it gets oil changes every 6 months. It's currently on 50000 miles,I've had it since it had 14000 miles on it. So far it's had rear pads at 35000 miles and front discs & pads at 45000 miles, that's from New.
