Focus ST 170......
Well some may know I have 2 of these and tbh what a pain in the arse they are.
I have a capri blue one which I ran for a year and while inspecting it for mot found corrosion on the rear sections of sills and inner arch.
So I decided to use my black one only to find out the bloody old imrc problem.
After lots of internet searching and doing many of the fixes the thing still did not work.
So I took the imrc of the blue car only to find that too don't work.
So loads more stripping and carried out the mods and I finally got it to work and I have and eml light free dash.
why has nobody come up with a reliable solution to this crap part.?
And my last moan is why do people take the engine management light out when they cannot fix something.
Bloody cars do my head in and the blue one will end up on eBay.. ..

Have a very similar story, opposite to you as I used a black car for a year and could not be bothered to weld over the holes so have bought a capri blue one
No problems yet with the imrc but loads with lamda sensors, airbag system, central locking and electric window motors
Old Fords, you have to love them and be an auto electrician and welder

My Magnum grey on just failed on front subframe corroded mounts to body
Wouldn't mind but the rest of it is fine, so I now have a subframe ready to tart up and fix.

When I had my st170..The engine light come on a few times and it was the imrc at fault.
My mondeo also has a imcr and every now and then that feels like it's sticking cause there is no power sometimes over 3.5k revs.
The ST170 is the only car I've made money on when I sold it.

Cheap and cheerful lol 700 quid air con full leather 6 speed box good on fuel. I only use it every other week as I have my work van when on call. I can’t be arsed with expensive cars now. I have one money pit in bits and a few motorbikes

I think I was lucky cause my ST170 wasn't that bad. I took my imrc apart and and used a bit of sandpaper to clean the connection.
I thought mine went well. I had to take the fuel pump out cause the filter was blocked. Mine was one of the rare ones with both custom and climate pack.

I’m not really a fan of new cars but my little sister did turn up in this today after looking at it on Saturday lol she just got it and I am a little jealous it’s very very nice. It’s a Golf R 300bhp I think 4x4 paddle shift go’s really well to be fair. It’s a 2017 one

Really like that, facelift 5dr in white just the way I’d have it. Great tuning potential with these.
