Default speed detection question

Hi guys, i've been rebuilding my quantum kitcar (based on mk2 fiesta XR2) and carrying out a 1.0 ecoboost conversion.
The donor components came from a 2013 focus 1.0 6 speed. Does anyone know how the focus detects the vehicle speed? Is it off the the ABS sensor ring on the driveshafts, or (this is what i'm hoping!) off the gearbox?
Theres 2 electrical connections onto the gearbox, one is reversing light switch...not sure about the other!

Tom

post a picture of whatever it is you're referring to.

It's location and style should give a clear indication whether it is a speed sensor or not

Not to worry all sorted...I saw on the wiring plugs (written in very small numbers!) a part number, googled the part numbers and discovered ones a reversing light switch and the other tells the ecu which gear it's in.
