Default Focus 1.6tdci dpf filter and how to clean

As title bought a 08 plate 1.6tdci focus yesterday with 98k on the clock.Been off road for 3 years as old boy supposedly parked it up in garage when dpf starting playing up.need to get a new battery and try and get it started then
A-what's the best way to clean dpf
B- what's the best stuff to use and does it work or get it cut out and ecu remapped. (Yes I know it's illegal now)

Some of them have a special additive in a seperate tank to clean the DPF Ford call it the FAT (Fuel additive tank) You can buy the kit to do it but I seem to remember needing to go on IDS (to activate it) - they give a fault code specific to it when the tank is empty.

Once that is done it might be worth getting someone with IDS to do a forced regen of DPF, see how it goes.

Same here mate. Just bought a 406 hdi off a mates dad, 2000 reg and done 177.000 miles and still runs and drives mint with no probs
