I use a set of Pioneer HDJ1000's they are suposed to be pretty bulletproof, obviously not up to the ones Doug suggested but cheaper perhaps?

I have Shure E5's. Very expensive, but ultimate sound. I'm a DJ by trade (but the E5's aren't for my type of work use - just for pleasure)!

I've only ever used Sennheiser myself.

Had the HD25sp's then upgraded to the HD25's, excellent headphones, simply cannot fault them.
Closed back, very lightweight, excellent sound quality and go very loud.

Lots of people seem to use the Sony MDR700v but I think they are way to heavy & whilst they do go louder the sound quality is nowhere near as good and the don't keep external noise out as well.
