I can't really make sense of what he was thinking tbh, proper brain fart moment I think.

That will be the guy on here, shame as he built a cracking car. The braking was mega late there was no chance of stopping from that.

Off topic but you can see how early it picks up boost with the BW.

Such a shameful way to throw all your hard work away, braking was mega late, not sure what spec his stopping power was but it looked unbelievably late from the video.

Is it me or is the whole thing a bit dumb, having a race on a short straight with very little braking zone and a tight (for the speed that some cars can get up to) turn right after? Asking for trouble IMO, still not nice seeing a car damaged.

Braked while the inside wheels were light, locked up, lost it. I feel sorry for the feller, but he clearly had more vehicle than talent.

This was last Sunday on the European Ford Event in Holland during the sprint contest. It was actually the finals of the sprints where there were 3 Cosworth 4x4s, so all did several runs before on this day. They didn't need to stop, just slow down a bit a follow the banked track to drive around back to the start.

The run where the accident happened was his fastest run, so he might have had a bit higher speed at the finish than the previous runs. I'm not sure what happened exactly, but it seemed like both rear wheels locked up during braking, as I saw smoke coming from both rear tyres. As a result the back of the car slid to the lower part of the track, making the car go sideways a bit and out of control. I don't know why the rear wheels locked up. I would expect the abs to stop the lock up of the rear wheels, but it seemed like the abs didn't work.

I really feel for him. He is a nice guy and I think he can drive properly. Some comments made here are ridiculous, you weren't there, the video isn't very clear so you don't know what happened.

I've had fast driver training and was a quali'd AI. I know how to drive at high speed properly having spent years doing for a living what most get to do for a few hours a few weekends a year if they're lucky, and I know how to investigate it when it goes wrong.

Unless that was a suspension failure that caused the inner wheel to go light, it was driver error. Too much point and squirt.

To be fair to the chap though, that's a ridiculous piece of tarmac to be doing sprints on. I would have politely declined to be doing a sprint that required me to brake hard into a vast and changing camber like that.

Brutal

Looks like a wheel or something rolling off to the left after the car is stationary, and from the pics it still had both o/s wheels on it.

Shit quality video so that could have been better.

We were not there so harsh to criticise the guy, but to me the choice of location for a high speed sprint seemed odd. Why was it not on a longer straight section which surely would have been safer?

Yes, we weren't there. Although he was driving someone else entirely could have crashed it for him.

He was committed for the win... accidents happen unfortunately
I really hope it gets reshelled by him. His build thread has always been great
I'm sure if it does get rebuilt it'll be even better

I don't see the reason to kick a man while he's down, must be painful for him in more ways than one
Chin up and get on with it... don't let the negative comments get you down
