Default Alloy wheels courier, how does it work?

I am a bit confused here. I have seen some alloys I like but they are nearly 200 miles away so I asked the seller if he would be prepared to send them via courier. He has agreed to this......But how does it work as in the courier as you cant box up 4 alloys! Do they just get slung in to the back of the courier van, is there anyway to protect them.....Confused on how this works.

Usually shrink wrap them with some thick carboard on the front and back, and it'll be 4 items on one consignment. So each wheel will be 1 of 4.
Thats how i've recieved wheels and tyres in the past.

I bought a roll of the black pallet wrap from a local storage place. Put a piece of cardboard on the front and back of each wheel, wrapped it up in bubble wrap then shrinkwrapped two wheels together with the pallet wrap.
Surprisingly solid once done.

Either of these methods work great in my experience.

I think TNT will no longer take them if they have exposed tyres on as they catch on the conveyor belts in the distribution centres.

I have cable tied 2 together before with cardboard between and then bubble wrapped with loads of parcel tape.

I sold 4 alloy wheels and tyres to a guy in Malta, I got 4 large cardboard boxes and cut them down so they were a good fit, bubble wrapped them first and then parcel tape. 4 seperate packages and the Courier was happy with what I had done and they arrived in one piece.I was told they were to heavy for the driver if 2 were put together.

Just one snag I can see, have you asked the seller if he is willing go to the lengths required to safely package the wheels, or will he get the carrier wrap them ? (I can see £ signs if the carrier provides a wrap service).

If the seller has agreed as part of the total sale price to get a courier to pick them up and deliver them he will need to package them up ready to go. If this is not the case the buyer needs to be careful as there could be extra costs involved.
