I've literally just had this box checked and rebuilt by the gearbox man, done around 50 miles and yesterday, all of a sudden would not go into gear, the h pattern feels a bit all over the place, there were no nasty noises or anything. Does anyone have an ideas, as this box is in my kit car so it's an engine out job!!! Could there be a chance that it could be something's comeloose in the top of where the gear stick goes into the box? I can access this area by removing the tunnel on the car.

Whether it can be resolved or not purely by removing the stick is another matter as it depends what has broken. But clearly it would be a sensible place to start

Theres a nylon cup that the gear selector ball sits in, these sometimes break, making it hard to find gears, the selector is easy enough to remove, provided you have room to remove the 4 bolts in your kit car, be worth checking this first before stripping the box.

How did you check your actual selector? I'm thinking and hope if it could be this, all looks ok but it does possibly feel a bit odd.
