Poor starting when hot?
My Newly finished 1.8 Zetec MK3 Fiesta is already causing problems. Few teething issues aside, I've noticed two main issues. One being, it's is difficult, almost impossible to start when it's warm. There is spark, turns over well and I can hear the fuel pump going. Second is if the tank is less than 1/2 full, If I give the car a bootful going round a left hand corner I lose all power as if the car is losing fuel. Full tank and it doesn't do it, are these issues potentially related as they both seem to be fuel? The tank is a standard injection tank with the electronic 1.1 fuel pump. Not ideal however I have been told by another source who is using exact same pump he has had no issues. I've owned 4 MK3's now all zetecs and none have ever struggled for fuel when cornering even when the tank is almost empty. Any ideas anyone?

Thanks for the responses, I've changed the coolant temp sensor and touch wood it does seem to be starting easier now. Fuel issue still remains however, I'm led to believe all MK3 injection Models came with a swirl pot and It looked like it had one when I had the pump out. One thing however, the pump had a strainer/pickup looking type thing which broke off when I removed the pump. It was initially meant to be running carbs with an external bike pump so that never bothered me, however does this strainer need to be fitted for the pump to work correctly when cornering?
