Default Ford fiesta zetec 1.4 EAC FAIL 2016

Hi, I recently bought a ford fiesta zetec 1.4 2003 model around a month ago and not had any problems other than when idling it sits at around 1,200 revs and sounds like i have my foot sightly pressed on the accelerator but again not a massive issue.

So tonight i was driving home and had a sudden loss of power and went into limp mode, the dash was showing EAC FAILURE. I switched the car off and on again, it started up & drove home fine.

Just wondering what my next step should be as i don't know much about cars. I've read up a few other posts about replacing the throttle body but a lot of problem aren't having much luck so any advise would be great, cheers.

Hello mate welcome to the forum. First thing to do would be to take it to a outfit that can put it on a diagnostic scanner and have a look as it will have stored the fault and they can then diagnose from there. If it's been fine since Then it may have just been a hiccup.

Had this on my 1.4 TDCI.

change the whole pedal assembly. Simply unplug the unit and held on with a few screws.

They are around £20 on ebay secondhand. Mine is still going strong after 3yrs.

Hope this helps.
