Love E46 M3's. Came very close to buying one when my brothers threw a rod which put me off so I opted for a TT Roadster for some summer fun before a V8 S4 next year.
Very nice. Very clean too. I enjoyed an e46 coupe on track and thought it went really well. I have been thinking of an e36 for a fun gamble on an investment

suprised it threw a rod mate.. mines lived on the limitor in the time i had it .. i kane the living crap out of it and it just dont go wrong.. lol apart from the prop shaft donut its been perfect..and that propshaft donut bush only made a noise after about 250 donuts i have done over the year i have the car .. got to admit its a tough car..still drives amazing.. although i kill it i do maintain it too just like all my cars i had..they get driven very very hard but get looked after very well too

my mate owns a e36 m3 mate.. power wise its not as quick ..we raced them so many times. . but yeah i must say the e36 is going up in value now and a good investment car. . but i just prefer the big arches..evil looks on the e46
We were surprised too as it religiously maintained and cared for. Currently building up a replacement engine for it as so little was salvageable. Considering a supercharger from the states for it but he's just had a nipper so that plan may be shelved

a supercharger would be mental mate..if he can tame it lol
Pains me to say it but after the M3 you'll be disappointed. Never meet your childhood hero's as the saying goes.
Naaa you'll be right with a cossie, I had an e36 EmmFree a few years back, great car but I just didn't gel with it like I have done with the saff. I've also had scoobies and a Clio 182 in between but nothing has grabbed me like the saff.

you do have a point.. i know what old fords are like to look after .. the m3 is amazing.. i had it a year and apart from 1 bush being replaced..nothing goes wrong..it drives like a dream.. and still has decent power.. looks the part..fun with the roof off too. . good fun and a nice decent car..however.. id like to own a cossie for a while.. as i love the sound and boost..but if i sell the m3 and buy a cossie..then later if i regret it it will be hard to find a minty mint m3 in this condition in this spec.. think ill bite the bullet soon though and just get a cossie for a while..hmmmmmmm...confusing my self again haha..
