Bought one yesterday its 06 has 125k on it very well kept car, only mods are k&n filter, just wondering what are common part that go on them? any good mods to do on them aswel? thanks

my mate loves them..dont rag it from cold..till it warms up,check your oil level because hes was low on oil and the vtec system dont work.. i think they are solid cars and good fun if driven hard..but aint quick ..the clio 182 cup i had was quicker ..BUT the civic type r is still a good car and very reliable.. ill find the sticky where common faults are listed if i find it

I've not owned one but driven plenty. Valve clearance is common
Check oil regular as they do like to use oil.

Mods wise
Uprated cams
air filter
throttle body
exhaust
remap ( not sure if you can map a standard ECU yet ones I've driven had afteramrket ECU's )
Decent suspension (or Eibach lowering springs)
Sway bar
polybushes
Limited diff

All the above makes it so much better but its not cheap and should see around 250bhp and similar torque not massive increase but makes it so much more torquey down low.
