I was the 3door registrar for the RSOC for 4 years and in 2010 Vince brought the car out of storage after 14 years, he asked me to value the car for him, it's original and supplied by ford to the duke of Bedford.
How do you value a car which is the only one ? It's a marmite car Imo as said the wheels and trim spoil it for me
Bearing in mind it was on its original d40's Vince took it on the parade lap , I told him to go easy on the tyres due to age and he gave it some beans ! Luckily it didn't end in tears

The red wheels etc were done after it left Ford. It was built exactly the same as the standard coloured 3drs.
The Duke link is a red herring apparently, it was ordered by a Ford employee in the special vehicles operations section and he ticked the red box just to see, lo and behold it turned up! The chap came onto the RSOC board a few years ago and posted up some original pics from when it had been delivered.
Vince bought it from a Ford closed auction and kept it ever since. I had a good look over it at Combe, 70 odd thousand miles, it would resto nicely though.
I had heard Vince is poorly now and sold his race Capri but no doubt would want big bucks for it even in its current condition, he is a trader at the end of the day.

I think it looks pretty good in red, agree the wheels don't look right though.

It must have been around 2010/2011, when Colin was the registrar. I was over the moon to spot it as I had heard of the car for years but never even seen a pic of it before then.
Vince had his 3100 GAA Capri there at the same time, what a stunning machine that was.
