Default Saff boot install ideas and pics.

Going to add another couple of amps to my system to run the fronts.

Need some ideas and pics to get the thought process going.

Cheers

Any install needs to be stealth for me, not into seeing loads of amps and subs scattered about the boot.

Could you use the spare wheel well to house the amps?

No might need a spare.

They are old school kenwood amps well from the mid 90's
846 bridged for rears
716 mono for sub
626 bridged lhf
626 bridged rhf

Top 2 are mounted in the larger of the 2 rear seats. Other 2 are too big for the smaller seat.

I used to run a 744/714 with a 453 head unit back in the early 90's in my XR2, I ended up swapping it for an alpine 3 disc head unit with Rockford fosgate amps and jbl speakers. I spent an obscene amount on ICE back in the day but just fell out of love with it and binned it all off for std O/E gear

I still have a nice Alpine head unit & CD unit that I have recently fitted into the Escos, just need an amp to run it, I'm thinking a phoenix gold or something else suitably retro

Is there no room under the front passenger seat & drivers seat for an amp under each seat to power the front speakers?

Other than that......what about a false floor for the boot and mount all the amps to that?.......would leave your wheel well free for your spare & anyone looking in would just see a carpeted floor & everything would be hidden.

Thought about this and it seems to be the better solution.

But if you had a proper tank you would not need the bomb in the boot.

Looks better than a boot full of speakers! For me a Sapphire Cosworth with a massive sound system dont go together but each to their own.

That is very true but to be fair mine was rusty and I do intend to do track days so this set up is suited to that

Sell all the old stuff and buy new amps. Car audio gear is way cheaper than it used to be an the likes of JL do stupidly tiny amps! Much easier to hide than the old brutes lol

I heard a system in a focus rs the other night and the bass from it was almost painfull, thought to myself what the hell has he got in there, to my utter surprise he has one 15" sub & 2 amps, almost expected the whole car to be full of speakers, modern audio has improoved big time as 10 years ago that would have been 20 speakers and 6 amps to get that sound

You can do the install in my Sierra using the same subs and amps as you did for the E46 as never even used the box you built due to writing the car off lol
