Rs turbo, noisy engine sounds like noises camshaft
New camshaft fitted = same
Another head & camshaft fitted = same
Bite the bullet, engine out & stripped down
Nothing obvious, lightly scored crank
New std/std crank fitted with new bearing all round
Engine starts = sounds the same
Slightly annoyed!
Notice slight wear in cam journal, mint head sourced with good cam
New head fitted = sounds exactly the same!
Engine sounds terrible when cold but once warm u just get a slight caggle noise as u apply load to the engine??
Last thing left is:
Little ends
Piston slap
Pistons seem tight & bores have little wear
No obvious play/movement in little ends
I'm about ready to fit a new engine but it's the original engine on a low owner car
Any advise? (Normally people come to me for advise lol)
