Default Central locking motor, drivers side XR3i 1989

Hi There

Struggling to get central locking motor drivers side, got one off breaker with correct part number, but Ford say it needs two connectors, suppliers saying there is only one connector on drivers side, going round in circles, part number 87BG-220A20-B1B Ford parts say this is right number

Advice appreciated

Hate to admit it, but looks like as many have said Ford don't know what they are doing need dedicated technician, need to get her back and central locking working again :-(

If you need to be a senior tech to differentiate between a central locking motor and a window motor then I'm gonna join the motor-trade as the equivalent of god

BTW the window motors are sided but they were available across a few Fords of the era (the motor only not the whole motor/regulator assembly) if that is the part you actually need? (tho thats one of the cleanest assemblies ive seen in a long time - i know the inside "could" be mullered but i doubt it)

Have you taken yours apart? They are really simple mechanisms and its usually corrossion (green mess on the copper contacts) that stops them working properly. Easily fixed with some contact cleaner, a wire brush and some patience

I doubt Ford will have taken it apart, will pass on your advise, just hope the work on the locking motor not the window motor 🙄

I'd be very suprised if a dealership would even touch it like that. Dealerships dont fix things... they just replace them
