Default Turbo question? Help please

I think my turbo is on the way out and I have been looking on e-bay at t3 turbos for a 92 sapphire 4x4 but dont know what the numbers quoted mean i.e trim, compressor a/r and exhaust a/r or what they should be for my particular car.
Also, how much should I be expecting to pay or would i be better off getting it rebuilt.

Get it rebuilt. Not as expensive as you may imagine.

Thats the main problem, i've been driving the wifes car for 2 weeks while the head gasket / head been getting sorted and shes getting a bit pissed off. Realisticly how long would the car be off the road if getting the turbo rebuilt.

What better excuse do you need to upgrade to a bigger turbo?

I've lost interest to be honest with making it go faster, im sticking to stage 1 at the most since I use the car everyday and 14mpg is getting costly.

the larger the exhaust housing the higher the power potental, but the car will have more lag. A .48 ex housing will spool up quicker than a .63 one will but it will restrict the top end power.I also understand that the more restrictive the exhaust size the higher the temperatures.

can't help you with the compressor trim sizes though.
