Many years ago I took a Ford Escort estate in P/X against a Ford Sierra I was selling. I never even sat in the Escort, but then when I did it hit me that the guy was a fisherman, and I only lasted 20 mins in the car, and I gave it to my dad

i brought a 1991 charade gtti back when i was 18 and i got stung big time on the insurance
which i obviously never checked first, just fell in love with it and brought it.
anyway i loved the car for the first 2 weeks until the cylinder head cracked.
took me nearly 2 months of searching all over to locate one and cost a load.
i sold it on not long after that as it was costing a lot to insure.
regret selling it as they are so rare now and go for good money.
it was about 130 bhp and the little 1 litre, 12 valve, twin cam engine could suprise a lot of cars off the lights.
i did a quote for a laugh now im 33 and the insurance would be 6 quid a week lol.

i used to take on anything round town and smile knowing it was just a little 1 litre.
i got rid of it for 500 quid and an old grey xr2 which was so low i got pulled on the way back as the exhaust sparked scraping the floor lol.
did have two 15 stone mates in the back tho.

Yeh that was it. His didnt have to boost knobs though. He did say the first one was the quickest of the 2.
If i remember rightly im sure a small part of the head or block snapped off causing the leak. This was over 15 years ago.

Did a deal with a dealer who had a prime pitch in Lincoln some years ago. He was really dodgy, and I lost out big time. In the end he get what he deserved though, he claimed his business had been burnt down by a tramp sleeping in the basement, and got found guilty of setting the fire himself trying to defraud the insurance company and got put in the nick for 2 years. I think he thought he could chat his way out of anything, not that time mate!

The jeep commander I bought last year.
Something goes wrong with it every fucking week!
Main issue at the moment is the front LSD is whining it's head off.
Can't be arsed with it any more and want fucking rid but I kind of don't want to.
I won't by anything Jeep/Mercedes ever again.

I used to have a Celica GT4 back in 1999, had a really annoying problem with the hazard lights intermittently going off when driving (I have no idea why!!), anyway after a heavy night out the next morning I drove down to Toyota in Slough (1hr drive!) to ask the service department if they had any ideas - they were closed being a Sunday! I was so hungover/annoyed I ended up trading it in there and then for a Ł18k 6 month old MR2!! What a mistake that was, I only kept it 4 months and lost about Ł6k when selling it! To this day I never go to car dealerships with a hangover!!

My biggest blunder came in 1970. Put a deposit down on a 3 bed semi for sale at Ł3995 the relationship went sour a few days after that & like a fool I pulled out & bought a Sports car. In 1972 I decided I had better get on the housing ladder but could not afford the Semi ended up buying a Maisonette for Ł6400 the Semi by this time was Ł7400 that's how fast prices were rising back then. That blunder cost me Ł100k in todays money a very expensive Sports car.
