Mine is 206 BHP and is best described as nippy. As said top end is about 140. However it does feel very very rapid between like 30 and 120. Mind you thats probably down to the 6 speed sequential box I now have in it which has really transformed the car!!
Would like to time the 0-60 in mine actually as with the new box it will just touch 60 in first gear!!!
The big factor with these is weight. Mine is 740Kg so has a similiar power to weight ratio as a 380BHP cossie. But as stated by Mike mine will actually turn the corner at the end of the straight. Ohlins went on today, car is really getting there now, cant wait till National Day!!

Just found out an old school friend has an aerial(spelling ) atom, and he's just supercharged it = 400hp per tonne. In an open top climbing frame, madness

Sean, what engine and box are you running?, is it the civic type r engine and box by chance?
Reason I ask is because I went in one a couple of months ago which had the type r engine and 6 speed box, was awesome. I've never considered a lotus elise/exige before but after that I must admit I checked the prices on autotrader mind you I'd have to throw a shite load of cash at one to get it like the one I went in. It was a company demonstrator for a place where my boss has his porker worked on, maidstone or headcorn in kent I think.

Mine has the 1.8 K series VHPD engine in it, however I have modded it a bit. It now has Jenvey throttle bodies, massive QED carbon air box, tubular exhaust manifold along with an Emerald ECU and it was mapped by Dave Walker. All that added up to the 206 BHP which I don't think is bad for a normally asperated 1.8 litre engine.
My gearbox is a Quaife 6 speed sequential dog box and it is the absolute DADDY!!!!!!!!!!
There are differing schools of thought about the Honda VTEC engine conversion for the elise / exige. Full out they are about 215 - 220 bhp, but the whole package is 40 odd kilo's heavier than the K series and they are very much all or nothing engines. But I have to say loads of people rave about them, but it aint my bag.
Plus people are going for Audi turbo engines, again a lot heavier but easily 300BHP, but again I am undecided about the concept.
I reckoned a 700BHP YB in the back, but the general school of thought was as the chasis is only glued together, the heat created from the engine would probably melt the glue and it would fall to bits half way round the track

sean if u even contemplate a YB in there, u KNOW u will be back to square 1 as with the escos, and then, will it REALLY be a Lotus Exige?
