Is it ok to run a ZVH without a thermostat and how much longer, on average does it take to get upto working temp without one?

ok, thats good enough for me. i bought a XR2 one as they open up earlier don't they? but i've got the wrong one, as it doesnt fit in the housing and looking at the state of the rubber o-ring behind the 'stat, it could do with replacing so was just gonna ditch it all together if it was ok to do so.
guess i'll just have to get me another o-ring and bang the old one back in

Doesnt the thermo work rob?? Is the needle not moving from bottom position??
If not, follow the wire to the thingy in the block, cos it snapped before, so might have snapped again!

the needles fine kev mate. but as you know, the temps run silly high so doing my bit now to get the problem sorted. gonna get a new stat tomorro and get that side of the engine back together lol and concentrate on getting the manifold back on and the front bumper

End of the day a stat that opens at a lower temp is just delaying the inevitable.
