Default Anyone herd of Newman mechanical followers sheering?

Has anyone experienced this in the past?

Reason is, I just have.

It was installed properly, all gaps were as per Newmans instructions and was running spot on after I ran it in last weekend.

Started it today to check fuel pressure and set proper idle and after about 30 seconds of running a little smoke started coming out the exhaust, and the top end sounded rattley.

Took the cover off checked all gaps and rocker nuts again. All the rockers were at 29.0 NM by a Snap-On digital torque wrench and all the inlets were .20mm and all exhausts were .25mm expect for inlet 4 and exhaust 2. So I removed these lifters and the heads have sheered off both of them!

Now I don't have any faith in the rest of them. Problem is I bought the camshaft in about 2009 so I don't know where I stand...

tricky one 7 years later and only run the car twice! How can they break so soon and from zero wear? Would the way the cams run in make any difference?

Let me just clarify, niether were rattling around loose in the head. They both sheered when I tried to un-do the lock nut to adjust them.
The one was loose, i.e felt as if it was loose in the lifter, then minimal force with the spanner and it just turned off. That's the one which is still in the lifter.
The second the lock nut unlocked about half a turn then just sheered off about a few mm out of the lifter. I managed to removed the rest with a heat gun and grips.
The only thing I can think of is either they are bad "bolts" and the metal was shit or I over tightened the lock nuts and stretched the bolts.
However, I was told to do the lock nuts "fucking tight" and I'm hardly the Hulk.
I want to replace all the bolts now, which won't be the end of the world, just in case, so hopefully they won't do the same when I try to undo them.
Just shit about the one which sheered level as it needs to be drilled and tapped really.
