Default 3dr and 2wd saph fuse boxes the same?

My mates got a late 2wd saph cos and he's wondering whether the 3 door fusebox is the same as he needs a new one for his saph but found a 3dr one for sale. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

As Martin said any high spec mk2 will do.
I am guessing its got a bit hot and melted a few fuses???
Fan fuse, fuel pump and sometimes headlights if high wattage bulbs are fitted.

If it's just one fuse, then just rewire that circuit (which should be done anyway).

Replacing the fusebox is a huge task.

Usually the radiator fans fuse, I had a seperate fuse holder done years ago and never had a problem since.

It's taken out the entire cooling fan relay area and fuse area also so damaged a lot of the fuse box and wires etc

Yeah I made a separate loom up for the cooling fans on my Cossie once I realised the damage had been done and it was a little too late so had to re wire some of the fuse box into seperate fuses. Plan to fit an aftermarket fuse box at some point in the future

Replacing the box is easy, just file this simple guide:

Locate fuse box
Remove car from fuse box
Rebuild the box with a spare one
Rebuild car around fuse box

But yes, the box does split and any replacement you can find should have all the bits you need to fix yours

Sounds like yours had a major overheating problem and did quite a lot of damage, finding another fuse box is the only way to go. One of the breakers should have one.

Correct, but it should be rewired, but doing this alone does not solve the underlying cause, that being the fans stay on for too long, due to the span of the switch. This along with the fuel pump wiring are two common issues and both have the potential to cause catastrophes.

Another advantage with rewiring, is that you reduce the load on the overloaded fusebox.

Yes, there is nothing special about Cosworth's, they are merely high spec models, i.e. Ghia trim.

I have also had a new engine wiring loom plus fuel pump and fans looms so hopefully no problems.
