Hi all I own a mk3.5 fiesta with central locking. I lost the keys to my fiesta and i was wondering if I could a set of keys and door locks off a ford ka and fit them to the fiesta and keep the central locking? How would I go about doing this ? Do I simply just change the locks

Swapping the door locks, tailgate and ignition barrel can be done in under an hour all in. Pretty sure the last set I got from Ford was 75 quid
As soon as you pop the panels off it's self explanatory how to do them.

Hi
Has your fiesta got PATTs ie has it got a chip in the key
If it has you will need to get it re programed to the car for it to start and run
Some of the older fords had lock barrels which had a large slot in one side and you could see the lock tumblers they had a different number of notches for the number of each tumbler one notch for 1 two notches for two three notches for three and no notches for four.
If this is the case you can work out the number. There will be six tumblers to give a six digit key number
The number always starts from the plastic end
The only other way to work out the number if your barrels don't have a large slot that allows you to see the tumbles is to dismantle the barrel carfully keep all the tumblers in order and work out the numbers
The latter tumblers have numbers stamped on them
Hope this helps
Cheers Tim
