Default Any bmw techs?code reader problem

My 2004 e87 must know it's Christmas as the dash has come up like a Christmas tree. The car was fine when I parked it up the other night but the next moring the ABS,traction control and brake warning light was on. In the cars obc there's a abs warning and run flat warning
Bmw codes
Cc-Id 236
Cc-id 50
I bought a autel code reading that does the abs system but it won't connect to the abs system just says connection error?it will connect to read engine and air bag codes and will also bring up the cars details so it's connecting to the car there but not in the only one I need?any ideas?

your code reader is quite basic and not equipped to get into that function you need a more complicated reader [snap on etc] my guess would be abs module on top of abs pump ouch gonna be expensive

The code reader is a autel al619 which is supposed to read abs fault codes. There are other options in the reader which when you select is says this model does not support this function. But when I try connect to the abs section it says connection failed check your leads and the ignition is on. Will have to call at a garage with a better reader.

This info may or may not be any use but on a Vauxhall I had it did this. The car wouldn't start and the engine warning lights came on so I borrowed a snap on code reader and it just said it couldn't connect. After alot of fucking about I found the reason it wouldn't start and the code reader couldn't connect was because the earth had corroded away on the engine ecu. New bit of wire to battery problem solved and the tester worked as well after this.

Might be worth you running a temporary earth lead just to rule this out, as it will only take you 5 mins.

Default codes

more than likely dsc control unit fail
try better equipment on it to confirm
get somebody with inpa etc

you could try battery disconnection turn steering all the way to left then right after reconnecting, the steering angle sensors[part of switch iirc] can play up too
