no when i rang the guy running garage, the brother of the guy who painted my car was there, he offered a apology and said they were strugglng and trying to get someone in the fix the bumpers, he said unless you can get someone to fit them yourself.

i told them i just want it back and dont touch it anymore, and i will pay for the work thats been done. just to get it out of there.

as i phoned citizens advice trading standards police etc and they said i need to write them a letter giving 7 days, to be honest i just want it out of there.

the brother said how much would you offer to take it, i said to be honest you owe me concidering the messing about, he said the car paint alone cost £400.

regarding the work thats been completed on my car:

full respray ( some bits of black adhesive on car doors roof etc so will need removing, car will also need mopping )
repaired my cracked front bumper.
repaired my wheel arch as it was rusty and bubbled.

work which was agreed but they never completed:

straighen or pull front end out slightly , as the bonnet wont open or close, so think bonnet catch bar is slightly bent.
straighen front bumper fixing bracket as bent.
repair and refix bonnet vents
refit carbon wing mirrors
refit front and back bumpers
valet inside car as its full of paint shop dust
may of missed other small bits.

got to pay for my own transporter to pickup my car also

will have to see car in the light to see if theres anythink else needs doing if so i will deduct it off price.

to be honest the way they have messed me about i feel like paying them less however, however i thought 500 was a fair offer concidering whats already been done, and just to get it the f*** out of there what do you guys think?

Is the work that's been done , specifically the respray , decent quality? What was the original quote for all the work as it looks like a complete respray , wheel arch repairs and cracked bumpers are the biggest jobs with the rest being bits and pieces?

fuzzy looked liked like all the car had been resprayed including front/ back bumpers. regarding quality its very hard to say as the lighting conditions wernt the best and the car is very very dusty. the orignal quote for everything mentioned the boss done me a deal for £1500 as about a month earlyer i had my old mk5 escort also repainted by him which all went smooth. this was before the company changed hands.

Sounds like £500 would be a fair price to cut and run at since you've had spray work done there before that you were obviously happy with.is he happy to accept that?

Agree, sounds like £500 isn't too much of a piss take, waiting around aside. Pay it and get it out of there and strike that one down to bad luck.
