How much
I'm 34 and my first car was a mk2 fiesta dreamed of having a red xr2, never happened tho gone full circle, also had a scoob, but sold it for a cav turbo.
Your right on 30s and 40s reliving their youth or scratching the itch I've met a lot of people collecting parts.
Prices have gone up across the board, 80s especially, a good period in terms of cars. I've also noticed novas have disappeared, wonder what a mint silk violet gsi would fetch today, can't remember the last time I've seen one.

Going back to my original rant...
I love seeing Cosworths, I wanted one for a while... Also wanted a Cav turbo, but couldn't insure any at 21, but I could insure a Impreza??? The rest is history...
When I used to go shows with the SIDC
I could never click with many of them, most of then just put their cars into a garage for work to be done, where as I've always tried to do as much as possible myself...
I get the same feeling going RS national day, not that RS owners don't work on their own cars, but it's badge snobbery imo...
And it comes across on here...
Any none RS Ford isn't worthy of a price value increase...

I think it is just that some people on here dont realise how much prices have gone up on the older Fords and they are not looking down their noses at any non RS cars. This forum is for all Ford fans regardless of what model they own.

I could be shot for this on this forum, but I love that nova!
My old cav turbo, last I herd it was being abused in the boy racer scene in Sheffield.

Was A very quick car at higher speeds for what it was, 6speed box was awesome, would Always make me chuckle when I was in the outside lane with a big German sports saloon up my chuff, car pulls in to middle lane and drop it to 4th and it was gone.my cousin has a gte nova, let nova and a low mileage cav turbo buried at the back of his garage, he says one day I will relieve him off it for neglect. Not turned a wheel in 10+ years.

Can't comment on the rs snobbery as I've not been to any ford shows in a while but it is strange that some cosworth owners can't comprehend non cosworth price increases. Retro cars in general are booming now and selling fast......
I also only buy toys I can fix, it's part of classic car life, couldn't imagine being dependant on garages with classics.

Hope that wasn't my old 1.4s - had a white D reg one as my first car which I fitted (badly) an xr2 kit and pepperpots... Bit of a rust bucket but I loved it!

If it's a great example, then it's priceless if it's what your after...
Try finding another now days.
Most cars that are 20 years old plus demand good money if it's the right car...
It's now't new...
This is Passionford, where we love all types of Fords...
Problem is because it's not a Cosworth half of you can't get your heads round it...
There's far better cars out there than a old Cosworth...
If I had the spare cash I'd buy another Impreza Type R... Far better car out of the box in all aspects...
My opinion of course...
But there's to many Cosworth value threads on here at the minute ( Willy waving threads which are frankly alittle boring
)
All the Cosworth value threads might be more appropriate on the RSOC, but those rejected from the site still insist popping on here waving it about because there not wanted elsewhere...

( Not a dig at anyone in particular so please don't take it that way )
Just seems sometimes that unless your a Cosworth owner, your a nobody...
And we've ended up with the RSOC nobody's thinking there somebody on here...
