Well, the story is the first RS500 wasn't black. It was green. The prototype didn't get the matte paint. I saw it in 2013 in person:





Mr Green made its way over the pond to the US as a corporate fun car, Ken Blocks Daily, and finally back as a fun Ford before being, as required, written off....crushed.

BUT

Ford decided to....keep some things from RS500 #0.

The seats are with a buddy. He got first pick as he works closely with Ford. The rear wing, steering wheel, the set of alloy wheels, shift knob with boot, door sill trim, hood and bumper covers were raffled off at a closed Ford Performance meeting @ Carlisle Ford Nationals this past weekend.

We all are long time members of the focus groups that Ford has and they decided to give us some momentos of the RS500 they brought to the show back in 2013. Free of charge.

I will hang it on a wall in remembrance. It's still got bug guts and dirt on it. I will be...."wingin it"

Looks just like a standard green RS Focus. Surely it would have been made to look different from a standard car if it was the first of a special edition????
