Wink running my car on 100% veggie oil, who has done it?

just been reading a thing on this site about veggie oil, im a petrol head!!! ive run my golf tdi for a month now on 100% veggie oil and its fine!!!

but on this site it says if you startup with veggie oil it will be notoriously difficult to start, mine has been fine! my car has had a proper conversion with two tanks, but im assuming its more winter related when the oil gets thicker in the cold!

Many years ago when this first started I used to run a pug 205 on pure veggie oil from aldi at 29p for 2 litres , It will get harder to start when it gets colder so then I used to just mix it with some diesel and all was fine .

I was under the impression that newer common rail dervs didn't take it to it to well.

I have run 3 cavalier td on pure veg. even in winter. Was a bit flat for 3 or 4 minutes. They have a heated diesel pump though so helps. Also a 200tdi discovery

Unless your're getting the veggie oil for free, I can't see the appeal/hassle of buying it from a shop just to save around £10 on a full tank. I have heard it can clog up fuel filters quicker then diesel.

The veg oil is thicker so when you start using it it will drag any shit in the tank through.
I ran my 406 1.9TD on it for 30k.
I had to change the fuel filter 4 times in the space of 3 months. After that it stayed clean.

In the winter I would run 5% petrol and a glug of two stroke oil to stop it gelling up.

I never noticed any difference in performance or starting.

Smells lovely!

50L for £39 is saving far more than a tenner a tank

Regardless of the savings, it's pikeyish.
