prices are also very seasonal on these cars as spring time to august is prime tourist pricing, as come winter when its time for many to put them to bed is when prices dip big time, but there will always be a demand for good clean examples

The recent prices are full of shit - show me a private sale thats advertised at Ł35k+ and selling for anywhere near.

The prices can't jump that fast

What's going to happen in 5-10 years when all the folk that are into cossies just now find that they are too old to own one or it isn't practical to own one any more. I mean 90% of cossie owners must be in their 40's/50's just now.

I'm only 21 but there's not a lot of people my age that actually like them, most are into vags/evos/imprezas/fucus rs' ect and think cossies are old piles of turd (kinda true lol).

I think prices will eventually drop as there will no longer be a buyers market for them.

imo its very unlikely prices for 3dr cos will drop. You have only got to look at e30 m3's, integrale, early quattros, air cooled 911's, m3 csl, 968cs, ferrari 355's etc to see the market is only going one way for these kind of cars. I wish I bought one ten years ago.

Good ones will fetch good money, trouble is people will see a good one sell and all will begin to think their pile of shit is also worth that much, IMO a 3 door is worth 12-20k, with 15 securing you a nice useable example, the really expensive ones on the bay have been there for months and months.

Prices will never drop, just look at the old 70s Rs escorts and all other classic cars to see that.
There will always be buyers for classics whatever age.
Never too old! haha

Imo it has ruined it for people who want to own a cossie and genuinely give it abit of shit and enjoy it. That's the only reason I sold mine as I knew when it was done I wouldn't want to leave the garage in case anything happened to it as you say also the parts are as expensive as the cars. Don't get me wrong I can afford it but there's so much out there for the same sort of money you can actually use without worrying.

their are far better cars out there for the money ,but they dont have that feel of a special car you get in a 3 door
