Default head bolts rounded out

Trying to take the head off the FRS engine, and the middle two head bolts have both rounded out.

Is drilling the only option?

Anyone know if someone in the Berkshire area does this on a mobile basis?

What fastener type are they, hex, torx?

Could you get a nut welded to them?

they're Torx. can't get a welder on to them, they're down a big hole in the head, needed about a 3" torx bit to get down to them. All the others came out ok, just the two between the cams are causing the headache

You could try drilling the centre of the bolt and using a suitably sized easy out in the hole, which should then unscrew the bolt. failing that drill the head off the bolt, remove the head then use a pipe wrench to remove the bolt from the block. hth

The 2 between the cams don't hold the head on.

Look at this pic.

just reading your post again the bolts that hold the head down are only located under the cams 10 in total. are you talking about the ones in the valley where the spark plugs are? if so these are sealed in and are not head bolts.

You can use a spline bit and hammer into the head and then undo
