Had to do it in my s1 about 16 years ago, sat at the lights with the tunes on ready to start it in gear and the bloody immobilizer kicked in, it was 1 of them touch on the pad types. I felt a proper fool holding the traffic up.

I would of stuck the car in gear and cranked the engine over and drove home in one gear lol.

At least it will be a cheap fix

Hey! Finally got her home ! My mate came and picked me up n tow it back! Also went and got a new clutch cable! So Al in Al an eventful sat,

Having a beer now n relaxing! No matter how stressed or frustrated you get with the Rs she still puts a smile on your face when she sits out front

Tried to put it in gear and it just cut off I revved it and tried but no joy !!

Quick note : while having a proper look under the bonnet I found she is running on red injectors,( 1st I've seen of them)

No cosworth management also, it looks like standard fiesta turbo one with a 3 bar map sensor fitted

My rst snapped a few times over the years, got pretty good at driving it with no clutch but I was always practising in the work van seeing how far I could get without putting my foot on the clutch

I've not had a company van for a few years but I always try it, I had a manual audi a3 from work a year or so back and used to do it in that aswell, it only had a few miles on it aswell

I drove my Cossie back from Ford Fair in Oxfordshire back to Manchester with a broken clutch cable. Just start it in gear and pause for a fraction of a second in neutral when changing up and blip it in neutral on the way down. Just avoid town centres, stick to main roads and plan ahead carefully.

I always carry a spare cable now as they are a piece of piss to change.
