Default alarm fitting certificate, where from?

Long story short, had an alarm fitted, sent the document off to the insurance company, it's been so long that they don't keep records longer than 3 years, can't remember who fitted it or when, now I need that certificate where an I supposed to obtain it?
Or can someone retro examine it and issue one?

I wonder if you can obtain a copy from Thatcham if it was an approved alarm, the fitter (I think) sends them a copy.

I always copy everything that leaves here as companies lose this stuff all the time, "prepare for the worst and hope for the best"

Your first mistake was sending originals of any important document to an insurance company

A friend of mine bought a car with a cat 1 alarm fitted but didn't come with a certificate so he got a local place to examine & re issue a certificate so I would presume you'd be able to do the same if you've got someone local who installs alarms.

This is the way to do it. Any car electrical company that fit Thatcham approved alarms should be able to check it out and issue a new certificate, I'm sure I've done it before many moons ago.
