PassionFord Post Whore!!
Twins, assuming you did the work on Dans (?) car, how did you do it?
For the bumper, was it a case of cutting the bar out and removing some of the foam either end and refilling with glass fibre and a skim of filler? With the ducts, did you use the original fog surrounds, with a small piece of pipe blended to the surround to make a 'funnel'?
That's how I did mine. And, although I'm no expert in body, it took me hours to get the ducts right!

Rapid Ford did sell the fog light air ducts, here's a link to the original e-bay link
Maybe try and ask them if they're still available

Its a bit like Marmite . I didnt ask for black louvres its what Pete at Spec-r decided I would have . I had both Black & White catches so he had an open hand. I think I might change on the re-build to all white.

I think this is another one of those things you will love or hate. I have just helped my son fit a massive front mount intercooler and other mods on his 2001 Subaru Impreza which meant having to cut out the middle section of his bumper. The photos above look the same as his and it just seems a japanese car thing to me not a Ford thing. Good luck to those who like it but its not for me.

Sorry , as I said yesterday , this looks like a front bumper off a Mitsubishi Evo to me . The cut out bumpers thing to me is for Japanese cars not Fords. Good luck to those who like it but not for me.

It has nothing to do with looks its a must at my Spec. The intercooler was made to fit the gap we could produce in the bumper to get 100% airflow the standard bumper & normal 500 style intercooler are a joke & totally inefficient. The result negative temps on intial acceleration & the scrapping of a WI system that was once essential.

Have to say they do look good with a bumper cut out. Nice to see some tiger stripes too.

I don't believe it will make sod all difference performance wise removing the cross piece from bumper. As it doesn't defect any air away from the opening into the rads, I did it on my track bumper, wish I'd left it looking std to be honest.
It isn't very thick, psychological rather than science I'm sure. The air flow will be more laminar to the cooler without it, but quantity I doubt will be impacted.
