st170 owner needs your opinions
Hi Guys
I own an st 170 and i have just about every mod going for it
the list is as follows
cfm 67mm throttle body
cfm short throw shifter
coil overs
engine mounts (cfm dogbone)
10 mm ht leads,
cfm high flow sports cat,
cfm larger flexi pipe
custom 2.5 inch cat back
180 degrees thermostat
aem air fuel ratio gauge
clutch masters stage 3 clutch and alloy leight weight fly
full custom remap
the car goes real well, no more flatspots, and power delivery is way smoother than factory.
I was just wondering, if my next car should be the fez st150, and maybe get that tuned up???
would this make it faster than my tuned focus??
is there anyone on here who went from a focus st170 to a mk6 fez st150??
what were the noticeable difference,??
would going the fiesta route be like going backwards to the more grown up st170?

I'm Finding My Feet Here Now
It depends what you want, the st150 engines respond well to set of ITBs but for the money you would spend buying the car doing the mods etc you could buy something bigger and faster as standard.

Too many posts.. I need a life!!
IMO your final comment is correct, it will feel like going backwards.
Although the standard 170 engine isn't brilliant, the rest of the car is great and it sounds like you've done what you can within reason staying n/a?
Standard st150s aren't exactly amazing, and with the cash it would cost to do a supercharger conversion you may as well just buy something better.
If you want to stay n/a buy a type R, it's leagues ahead of a 150 fiesta. If its torque you want just buy something that was turbocharged to start with

When you say cutom cat back system do you mean a quality one or a PowerFlow? I have seen some shocking results with the aforementioned actually reducing power output including a chap on my Audi forum who's 3 week old system was consigned to the skip.

Put an adjustable pully on the exhaust cam and retard it 6degrees, that will make your ST170 feel even better in the mean time. Underdrive pulleys are also worth the dosh. I had the same mods as you plus the ones mentioned and mine went well. Wont cost the earth whilst you save for the 225

i think that would be too much money to fork out on an old car thats done 116000 miles,
how long would i get out of it afterwards???
whatever i decide to do, i want to keep for at least 4 years, so thats why ive decided to just save now for the 225,
