Mk2 Escort LHD to RHD would you bother???
My mates brother is thinking about buying a Left hand drive Mk2 Escort and turning it into a right hand drive
he says he would uses a Corsa power steering column, but we have said that finding the other parts are going to be near impossible now
We could cut the dash panel and re weld the sections to make that right hand drive
we could cut the scuttle and modify that
Im game to help him, but my biggest issue will be the peddle box bracket, we cant find one any ware.
any suggestions???
Or shall we try and steer him away from the idea due to lack of available parts now.

yeah you can get the peddle boxes, we could even modify the LHD peddle box
its the bracket off the bukhead that we cant find for a right hand drive car
like this

anyone any suggestions
anyone know if a capri / cortina etc has a similar bracket

Why not fit a bias pedal box, you could floor mount that and just make up a bulkhead fire wall?
I guess it depends on what you want it for...if you are building it to look factory then prob best to get a RHD one for best value but if you are not bothered too much then why not? IF you are making a track day or rally rep then you could probably live without the dash?
Surely if you can weld up the conversion you can make a bracket?
If you can get drawings then I know a fabricator who can make anything and fold up anything at good prices

I'd do it, they are worth about a grand more converted, plus everything is easy to get hold of.
