Default Escort Rs Turbo color change

I have been doing some serious welding on my S2 Rs Turbo and am hoping to get it into the body shop for painting in March after I finish a few little bits. Do I keep the car the standard ford red or should I go for a complete color change. Is it criminal to change from the original colors?

Would you consider a color change to another original Rs color

tbh using modern paints red does not suffer like the old paints for turning matt pink so original gets my vote unless its a highly modified example in which case do it whatever colour you like

No it will be modified heavily under the bonnet but to be honest I want it to look fairly standard. I was thinking of going black as my last one was black and wish i never sold it

I think changing the colour de-values the car in most circumstances but if you plan to keep it do what you want.

reds one of my favourite colours on a rs turbo so if it was mine I wouldn't be changing.

But its your car so your choice, personally if you want the stock sleeper look keep it red and spend the money a colour change would cost working under the bonnet

Change colour if you like. It's your car

Couldn't care what people thought when I changed mine

Looks good IMO that's all that matters

Do it

Well said. At the end of the day it can always be painted back to its original colour

I think that if you do a colour change then it needs to be a 'full' change. Inside, outside, underside. If not, just stick to red.

I think Moonstone would look superb. Personally not a fan of red (on any car no matter what it is) but that's down to personal choice. As above though, if you do make sure you do the whole car so it all matches. Different colours would look absolute cack.

It's gotta have nice prep work and be straight if you want it to go black, otherwise it will look like a condom full of walnuts.

Imo I would keep it the original colour.
