You'll need a compressor yea mate or you'll get no air

Depending how much u wanna spray you want it with as big a capacity as poss ie 200L as theres nothing worse than spraying a car and the fucker runing out of air pressure 1/2 way thru

Will also obviously need a gun, and if poss a filter to stop water and crap getting from the compressor to the gun cos its a bitch when u get shit in paintwork!!

Also most HVLP guns spray at about 2bar ish so it needs to pump out enuff air aswell

cool-

you say 200l capacity. Im sorry if i sound thick is this the air pressure/capacity? Is there a specific compressor i need .

for example is this one okay to buy?

Air Compressor 1500W, 2HP, 230V, Tank: 24 l, 8 bar

Thankyou

200 Litres is the size of the airtank - your one is much smaller at 24 litres.

Think of the tank as the size of the lung - you need a good stock of air to avoid running out of puff halfway through.

I think I'm right in saying that if it can hold the air at a higher pressure, then you can get away with lower capacity so long as the output is regulated.

depends what gun you are using and if you are using an air mask also

minimum specs i would say are at least 50 ltr receiver 8cfm held capability or able to sustain 2bar

also it needs to have oil/water trap dont want any of that getting in the paint

Thats kinda what i meant!!!! yea they keep the pressure just a pain in the arse if its puffing its guts out to re-fill it every 5mins!!

Gun wise yea the better the gun the better the job...........within reason, even with a decent gun u can get a shit finish!! and with a cheaper gun you can get a good finish aslong as the gun setup is right.

Craig's right thou unless you have done it before or dont mind it lookin crap get someone else 2 do it. But then saying that tbh once u learn the basic's spraying isnt as difficult as most ppl think but there deff is an art to it and helps knowing tricks to get u outa shit

Just had a look on ebay that Should be ok, or something similar, if u can find 1 with a 200L tank would be even better!!

If ur mates doin it as a 1 off thing for u thou mate your better off hireing one for a few days than buying one if it aint gonna get used again!
