Don't go to a complete stop with them during the initial bedding in, lift off at about 5 - 10 mph

55's will also need warming up prior to any use as well.

I run 77's and have to drive with the left foot on the brake doing some 50-10 mph stops before even contemplating trying to use them to stop. Once they are up to temperature they hang me in the harnesses

I run 55's in the cossie and my 306 and I find the cold performance excellent

Regarding running in, as has been said, just go out, find a quiet dual carriageway and do a few stops from 60-70 mph without coming to a complete stop

All this avoid heavy braking for 100miles nonsense is just to cover the brake pad companies ass if you pile into the back of someone because the pads arent bedded in yet.

Similar to what Dingle put, but leave plenty of cool down time in between 'stops'
