Default M12 headbolts

Hi ,

Does anyone know the pitch of cosworth M12 headbolt? cos I need to clean out block threads with a tap prior to putting the head back on.

Cheers.

Pretty sure they're standard M12 ? ie 1.75...but I could easily be wrong.

And you shouldnt really use a tap. Either use a thread chaser type tool or get an old bolt and grind two sides flat and use that.

Taps will cut away slightly at the threads no matter what you do so should be avoided unless absolutely necessary.

I'm pretty sure it's standard pitch. I have 2 x Cossie head bolts holding my towbar onto my Land Rover. Used standard m12 nuts, not sure if they are 1.5 or 1.75
